Sophomore Layne Johnston has recently read “Skyhunter” by Marie Lu.
“I really liked the perspectives and the representation it has,” Johnston said, “I just love the fantasy structure of it”
This dystopian novel follows 18-year-old Talin, a striker who protects her home, the only free nation left in the world from enemy forces. When Red is taken as a prisoner of war by the other nation, Talin has to save him. They soon become striker and shield, meeting with others to try and save their home from the rival nations.
“I really liked the author,” Johnston said. “There are other books I like by [Marie Lu].”
Marie Lu is a young adult science fiction and fantasy author. She is a #1 New York Times bestselling author for “The Young Elite” series. She has written many other blockbusters, including the “Legendary” series and “Warcross.”
