Junior Stella Cannon recently read “This Time It’s Real” by Ann Liang.
“It’s a cute, cozy book and it’s really easy to read,” Cannon said.
The book is about college-aged girl Eliza Lin who does a personal writing assignment about a fake boyfriend. After it ends up becoming viral online, she begins dating a famous actor at her school for more writing experience and has to navigate a fake relationship with him.
“I really like other books by the author [like] ‘If You Could See the Sun’,” Cannon said.
Chinese-American author Ann Liang specializes in young adult and romance novels. Liang has spent her time traveling between China and Australia after graduating from the University of Melbourne. Her only other published work is “If You Could See the Sun.” Another romance novel by the author, “I Hope This Doesn’t Find You,” is expected to be released in February of next year.
“It’s a really cozy book,” Cannon said. “It’s good for anyone no matter how much you read.”
“This Time It’s Real” emphasizes honesty and the idea that being honest in the first place will prevent conflict.
