This week “Dancing With The Stars” had two rounds of dancing.
The first round was where each theme had to perform a routine for Halloween and each couple was dressed up.
The second round was a bonus round called “Monster-Thon,” where all of the couples danced to the songs “Stayin’ Alive” and “Grim Grinning Ghosts” in the styles Hustle and Charleston. They had four minutes and could win up to five bonus points that will be added to their points from round one.
The winners of the dance marathon were Xochitl Gomez and Val Chmerkovskiy.
There were four judges this week. Actress Niecy Nash-Betts appeared as a guest judge on this week’s episode. The scores were worth 40 points and the teams got extra points from participating in the “Monster-Thon.”
The theme of this week’s performance was “Monster Night” where dancers performed contemporary, Argentine tango, Viennese waltz, paso doble or a jive routine for Halloween.
After points from both rounds were added, Xochitl Gomez and Val Chmerkovskiy received an overall score of 42 points, making them at the top. They performed a contemporary routine to the song “Game of Survival” by Ruelle. They received a ten from guest judge Niecy Nash-Betts and nines from the rest of the judges as well as five bonus points from Monster-Thon Marathon.
In second place were Ariana Madix and Pasha Pashkov with a score of 41 points. They performed an Argentine tango routine to the song “Bad Guy” by Billie Eilish and received a ten from judge Bruno Tonioli, and received four bonus points from the dance marathon.
The couple that stood out the most to me was Ariana Madix and Pasha Pashkov because they stayed connected throughout the night.
This week’s eliminations were Mauricio Umansky and Emma Slater. They performed an amazing Argentine tango routine to the song “Somebody’s Watching Me” by Rockwell. They received a seven from guest judge Niecy Nash-Betts and eights from the rest. In the bonus round they got two bonus points, which made their total 33 points.
Next week’s theme is “Music Video Night” and there will be a guest judge as well as a team dance where the remaining eight couples will divide into two teams and perform a freestyle routine.
You can stream “Dancing with the Stars” live every Tuesday night at 8 p.m. on ABC and Disney+. Viewers are allowed to vote until the last commercial break.
