In this week’s episode of “Dancing with the Stars” the remaining teams competed in a cha-cha-cha, rumba, tango, salsa or a samba dance.
One major change highlighted the week. Charity Lawson competed with Ezra Sosa because her partner Artem Chigvintsev tested positive for COVID.
This week had some tough competitors. Two teams tied for first. Teams Xochitl Gomez and Val Chmerkovskiy performed a salsa routine to the song “Don’t Go Yet” by Camila Cabello, and Jason Mraz and Daniella Karagach performed a rumba routine to the song “Quizás, Quizás, Quizás” by Andrea Bocelli. Both teams received an eight from each judge giving them a final score of 24 out of 30 points.
Two teams tied for second place as well. Lele Pons and Brandon Armstrong danced a samba routine to the song “Gasolina” by Daddy Yankee, and Charity Lawson and Ezra Sosa competed with a cha-cha-cha routine to the song “She Bangs” by Ricky Martin.
The eliminations this week were Jamie Lynn Spears and Alan Bersten, who earned a total score of 16 points out of 30 from the judges and had the least amount of votes from the audience. They performed a cha-cha-cha routine to the song “Shake Señora” by Pitbull. Judge Carrie Ann gave them a score of six while judges Derek and Bruno both gave the team a score of five out of 10 points.
The couple that did the best in my opinion was Charity Lawson and Ezra Sosa, because Charity Lawson showed the judges and the audience that she can dance with anyone. She also had to adapt and get to know someone really quickly, when she was already used to dancing with Artem. Both Charity and Ezra showed communication, chemistry, and trust throughout the whole episode. Communication is key in each couple.
Next week’s theme will be “Motown” and Michael Strahan will appear as a guest judge on the show.
Voting is available every Tuesday night on ABC. Viewers can vote up to 10 times with voting open until the last commercial break of the episode.
