Cheers & Jeers
Cheers

Cheers to the Detroit Lions defeating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last weekend. One more victory and they are Super Bowl-bound!

Cheers to substitute teachers. The best kinds are the ones that sit back and let the class do its own thing. Besides, what would we do without them?

Cheers to the pep rally this Friday. We look forward to cheering on our winter sports teams and this great way to promote school unity.

Cheers to staff writer Chloe Fitzsimmons getting approval to write her Johnny Depp story. Now she gets to express her passion for him and put it out into the world for all to read.

Cheers to nostalgia. The feeling of seeing something from years past again and getting to enjoy it again simply feels incredible.

Jeers

Jeers to the Kansas City Chiefs winning. They beat a Bills team that has Sam Martin, an inaugural inductee into the Starr’s Mill Hall of Fame. The Chiefs now travel to San Francisco to face the 49ers on January 28.

Jeers to sport schedule mix-ups. Our writers dealt with this first-hand last week with a JV girls basketball game being scheduled instead of the 9th grade game they planned on attending.

Jeers to busy weekends. There is nothing worse than working hard all week long at school, only to have to spend the weekend running around doing errands, or going out, or doing chores. It’s called “week-ends” for a reason.

Jeers to senioritis. No matter who you are, all seniors have felt the temptation to not do their school work because they have already applied and been accepted into a college.

Jeers to Eliah leaving The Prowler. After this school year is over, first year Staff Writer Eliah Richards will be moving back to Jamaica to continue her schooling.
