Cheers
Cheers to coffee. It’s the first whole week of school, so obviously caffeine is the only thing getting us through. Plus, now that journalism is first period, we get the luxury of using the Keurig to make coffee for the day.
Cheers to freshman Staff Writer Crista for bringing in cookies. Third day at a new school? Need a way to make friends? Bring cookies.
Cheers to the improvements made in the bathrooms. Let’s see how long they stay this nice—our bet is a month.
Cheers to a fresh start. It’s a new school year, and if you are a freshman, it’s a new school. Make the most of this fresh start, and make this year the best.
Cheers to 12.4 billion COVID-19 vaccine doses being administered. The U.S. accounts for 599 million of those.
Jeers
Jeers to school lunches costing money again. It is the same food, but now you want us to pay for it? Not a fan.
Jeers to the new school rules and the stricter enforcement of the old ones. What’s up with this whole 10/10 thing? I’m sorry, y’all, but if I have to go to the restroom, I cannot exactly time it so that it doesn’t hit the first or last 10 minutes of class.
Jeers to Music Midtown being canceled. What am I going to do with all this body glitter now?
Jeers to work/life balance. It’s a pain to get up, go to school all day, then leave school, go to practice for a team, then head to work. By the time you get home, you still have to do homework and all the fun personal care things, then go to bed at an unreasonable hour.
Jeers to the fact that we still have Cheers and Jeers related to COVID. It’s 2022!
