In preparation for the 2025-2026 year, Starr’s Mill is hosting Vision Night.
The annual event showcases possible classes for the coming year, including AP classes, freshmen classes, athletics, clubs, and different electives.
“That evening, parents and students are invited to come,” assistant principal Brandi Meeks said. “[They can] tour the school, attend an upcoming 9th grade academic planning meeting, learn about club options as well as get some information about athletics.”
The event also creates an opportunity for upcoming freshmen to meet their potential teachers and get a feel for the workload of high school classes.
Any future or current students at Starr’s Mill looking into possible electives or Advanced Placement classes will also have the opportunity to learn about each course and have any questions answered.
The event is a chance for students as well as their parents to get answers to necessary questions in regards to each individual course, deciding which path to take, learning about supplies needed and having a chance to talk to potential teachers in person before settling on a pathway.
Students can also explore electives, including newspaper and yearbook.
Vision Night will begin in the Willie Duke Auditorium at 6 p.m. on January 30.
