At last night’s Board meeting, the Fayette County School Board of Education approved Jamie Voorhies as the next principal of Starr’s Mill High School.

Voorhies is the current principal at Kedron Elementary. She will make the shift from elementary school administration to high school administration over the summer. 

Voorhies becomes the fifth principal in Starr’s Mill history as current principal Allen Leonard moves to the transportation department.

Voorhies has been in the teaching profession for 24 years and has worked as a teacher, assistant principal, RTI facilitator, and principal. Both of her children previously graduated from Starr’s Mill.

She has shared an introductory letter with parents, students and faculty.
