Eight Panthers earned first place in their relative categories in this year’s Fayette County Science Fair.
These winners are freshmen Lily Martin, Penn Swayne, and Cason Cauble, sophomores Olivia Garner, Jonah Begley and Sloane Hudgens, and juniors Delani Gatson and Ansiba Bakaly
Out of 200 projects, Bakaly placed as the overall winner.
“I think our placement shows how much teachers support us,” Bakaly said.
To qualify for county, students need to place first in their school or have it be reviewed by their science teacher. From there, region qualifiers are decided by interviews with the judges.
These Panthers will compete in the Regional Competition on February 1.
