For the seventh consecutive year, Starr’s Mill athletics and The Prowler have partnered with Tim Monihan of Farmers Insurance in Peachtree City to present the Player of the Week award. Monihan presents this award to athletes who have shown exemplary leadership and talent in their respective sports. 

“I’ve spent a lot of marketing money throughout my years and I wanted to find a way to give back,” Monihan said. “I love being able to highlight and honor athletes and the sports that not many people know about.”

For the selection of students, coaches meet and discuss some of the top performers. A decision is made each Monday, with the athlete being publicly recognized on Friday.

“I hope it’s an inspiration and something that every athlete aspires to receive and I love being able to recognize them and add additional recognition for their parents and for the school,” Monihan said. “I love being able to support the students and also the educators.”

Farmer Insurance is a nationwide company, with a branch here in Peachtree City operated by Tim Monihan. The main priority is to provide home, life, auto, golf cart, and commercial insurance. They are also considering a discount for public service workers.

“We’re recognizing the students and the really good student athletes in the community. It’s just one more way to shine,” Monihan said. “These kids are making a difference and setting an example. These kids are our future leaders.”
