Alex Hughes, formerly known as Alexandra Capell when she was a student here, returned to Starr’s Mill on Wednesday, Feb. 6, as a published author.
Now a full-time writer, Hughes visited Jill Bowen’s Creative Writing class during sixth period and lead them through her challenging journey of becoming a published author.
After school, Hughes, a 2001 graduate, joined the Ex Libris Book Club in the Media Center to sign copies of her book and discuss it with the members.
“Clean,” the first book in Hughes’ Mindspace Investigations series, is the story of a telepath who doubles as a detective on the hunt for a serial killer in a futuristic and dystopian world.
The sequel “Sharp” will be released in April followed by what Hughes said she hopes will be several other stories.
“I plan to have a long and interesting writing career with many worlds and characters to play with,” Hughes said.
