Dr. Robert Covel, who retired last May, is returning to the Mill not as a teacher, but as an author.
Covel, who taught AP and gifted English, will be here at 3:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 3, to sign copies of his new book of poetry, “String Theory”.
“Dr. Covel’s book is a compilation of poems that he has written over the years,” said Leigh Anne Hanie, one of the Ex Libris sponsors. Covel was also involved with the book club during his years here.
After retiring, Covel had the time to choose his favorite poems and put them in a book. He was encouraged by a writers’ group in Carrollton to publish his poems.
“I wrote my first poem in the fifth grade and it was called ‘Easter Bunny’s Sorrows’,” Covel said.
