Despite the early start and cool temperatures, more than 100 people came out to run in the second annual Panther Prowl.
“I am happy with how everything turned out,” race director Chad Walker said. “It was great to see so many students and teachers out running.”
In the 5-kilometer race, four teachers and more than 30 students participated, many of whom won first place in their age group.
Sophomore Josh Warren finished in third place overall and was also on the winning 3×1 mile relay team. Other members on his team were senior Daniel Sims and freshman Reed Livingston.
Teachers Jenny Kelly and Angela Goddard joined Ingrid Zambrana, mother of junior Jazmin Zambrana, in the 5-kilometer race. Assistant Principal Allen Leonard also participated, finishing in 23rd place overall and first in his age group.
“It was a lot of fun to be out here for the race,” Walker said. “I hope next year’s race is as successful.”
