Picture perfect prom
March 12, 2019
It’s that time of year again. Planning for prom can be a stressful time for many. The questions are endless: “Who are you going with? What should my group eat for dinner?” Though the planning process tends to be far from enjoyable, picking out the perfect prom dress is full of excitement.
While ball gowns are considered to be an older style, many dresses in this form have frequented the dress racks this year. Rather than choosing a plain ball gown, pick one with bold colors and an interesting neckline to add something special to this tried and true style.
A classic style that may never go out of style is the tight, mermaid dress. Keep it simple or elevate your look with a beaded bodice and a sheer, low back. No matter the color, this style accentuates the body and makes for an elegant look.
While bold and big dresses are in this year, a simple and more straight dress would be just as perfect for the prom. This type of dress is perfect for a dancing queen. Made out of tulle, chiffon, or any light and airy fabric, this style allows for optimal movement and comfort. Find one with embroidery and fun colors to make this an incredibly on-trend dress.
If you are worried about finding your perfect dress, do not fret. There are plenty of stores that offer a wide array of items where anyone can find their dress for the big day. If you are looking to shop locally, J. Andrews in Peachtree City has a great selection of dresses. Ashley Park in Newnan has department stores like Dillard’s and Belk. And, if you are willing to drive up to Atlanta, Lenox Mall has smaller, boutique-like stores as well as larger stores like Macy’s.
Prom is supposed to be a relaxing event for students to unwind. Try not to put too much pressure on yourself and just have fun. Be yourself with your dress choice this year. Don’t conform to the masses and find a dress that you truly love.
Prom will be held at The Opera Nightclub in Atlanta on April 27, 2019.
