Starr’s Mill welcomes new front office secretary Chrissy Stanek. She has volunteered at Starr’s Mill and Rising Starr Middle School in the past.
This is Stanek’s first secretarial job. She was originally a dental practice manager and volunteered at her children’s library for a couple of years. More recently, she was a frequent substitute teacher for schools around Fayette County, sometimes volunteering as a part-time secretary in past years.
“Both my kids went here,” Stanek said. “I enjoy the environment and being around kids.”
Stanek was raised as an “Army brat.” Her dad served his entire career in the Army, leading her family to move over 15 times in 18 years. Stanek never finished college, but hopes to one day she will.
“I love the leadership, [and] I love the teachers,” Stanek said. “I also love the opportunity to step back into something that’s for me.”
In her free time, Stanek enjoys traveling and reading, as well as spending quality time with her family.
