Starr’s Mill welcomes new paraprofessional Sancia Munroe to the Panther family. Munroe has been teaching for eight years now, previously teaching at Newnan High School.
“My role models are my parents,” Munroe said. “They’ve worked hard all their lives and made sure their kids were fine, so I think that’s my goal: to work hard and make sure my kids are okay.”
Originally from Jamaica, Munroe moved to the United States when she was 19. She lived in Florida for 10 years, while getting her undergraduate degree at Florida International University.
Munroe dedicates time to teaching and inspiring students to learn. She herself was inspired to become a teacher after her son was born.
“All students can learn. There’s different types of students and different types of teaching and learning.” Munroe said. “All students can learn if you just modify your teaching styles toward each student.”
Mrs. Munroe likes to spend her free time in her garden. She also enjoys traveling and seeing different states and islands.
