Starr’s Mill welcomes Charles Cheek to the Panther family.
Originally from Peachtree City, Cheek graduated from Starr’s Mill and then moved to Louisiana for college.
“I’m a career learner,” Cheek said.
Cheek attended Grambling State University where he earned a degree in business administration. He also played football while in school there.
“I’ve also had dreams of returning to my alma mater one day,” Cheek said. “And just affecting the kids in my community and being a good role model.”
Cheek came back after getting teaching jobs at a high school in Houston. He has also worked at Stockbridge High School, Mekyten High School, Centennial High School, and South Folden High School. A position opened at Starr’s Mill and provided him the opportunity to come back home.
“I love music,” Cheek said. “And just chilling at the house. I’m a homebody, too.”
When not teaching or coaching, Cheek enjoys being with his family. He has two little girls and they all love to go to the beach and being outside. They also enjoy traveling to different countries.
