The Panther family welcomes new paraprofessional Surrel Young to Starr’s Mill. Surreal was previously in the Army. This is his first teaching job.

Starr’s Mill welcomes exceptional children’s services paraprofessional Surrel Young to the Panther family. This is Young’s first teaching job.
Young was inspired to be a teacher by a man at a baseball game who recommended the career.
“Most of my family also have jobs in education,” Young said. “I was trying to find a purpose and a job that fulfilled my purpose, and so far this job has done it.”
When Young is not teaching he enjoys coaching baseball, going to the gym, and spending time with his family.
“As long as I see a purpose in this job, I don’t see why I would change or leave,” Young said.
