After enormous controversy and intrusive fame from previous years, Britney Spears replenishes her gloriousness in her new album “Glory,” delighting both devoted Britney fans and those who haven’t been following her since 1992. The iconic pop superstar made her album debut on  Aug. 26, a long awaited release since her last album “Circus” in 2008.

While listening to this album, it generally sounds like classic Britney, while adding popular electronic/dance styles to the mix. Although her music style has adapted throughout the years, Britney always manages to maintain her signature sound.

Britney Spears had her first taste of fame at age 11 when she starred in The Mickey Mouse Club, ultimately leading up to her career in pop singing and performing. Britney became the person on everyone’s mind in 1999, when she released her first hit single “…Baby One More Time”.  From then on, Britney Spears became the beloved artist she is today, who is always able to come up with a new hit.

Her newest album “Glory,” consisting of seventeen original songs, ranges from her typical pop style music to modern alternative genres. “Glory” includes aspects of music for almost every type of music fan, as long as they can get down to Britney Spears.

The album’s first song, “Invitation” is a slow, light track that truly matches the album’s title “Glory”. The song consists of slow although prevalent beats and high, almost whisper-like vocals. Listening to this song seems like a great way to start the morning, while it is extremely relaxed and calming.

The next song featured on the album, “Make Me…,” includes G-Eazy in a song that is both catchy and upbeat. This track is one of many new songs that give off elements of electronic music as well as modern influential dance and pop music.

Another song featured on the album, “Just Like Me,” is a mellow song that begins with slow guitar and Britney’s soft vocals. This track is one of the more pop sounding songs in the album, which is to be expected throughout any Britney Spears soundtrack.

In addition to this song, “Love Me Down” immediately follows which seems like the most recognizable sounding Britney song on the album. With her unmistakable vocals, this song is a great jam that also incorporates some popular alternative sounds.

“If I’m Dancing” is an upbeat song that is extremely catchy and easy to find yourself tapping your foot to. Parts of this song shows aspects of dubstep style music, while it has many bass drops and fast beats. This track is certainly one of her most energized songs on the album, making it extremely easy to listen to, especially for someone who enjoys electronic music.

While most of Britney’s current music can be slightly crude, every album she comes out with tends to showcase several catchy songs that seem to gain popularity. This album is good considering the numerous times her songs have been a hit and made #1 on the Billboard Top 100. The new album “Glory” confirms that Britney is back and clearly not going anywhere.
